I remember the first time I used AI to write a post.
It was back in 2022.
I was excited.
I pasted it straight into LinkedIn. Hit publish.
Three likes. 15 impressions.
Funny how back then no one said things like:
"This sounds like AI slop."
They simply ignored your post!
I realised I made a wrong turn with the post.
What went wrong with my AI slop post
The post was straight out of a fresh marketing graduate’s textbook.
Perfect grammar.
Perfect structure.
Perfect call to action.
But it was hollow inside…
Like bone dry.
It lacked a story, my live experience, and Justin’s genuine voice!
And my audience felt it immediately.
How to fix AI slop
Here's what I figured out.
AI wasn’t built to be a good writer.
It was built to be a good thinker.
The difference is everything.
Wrong way: "Write me a LinkedIn post about lead generation."
Right way: Feed it your raw rags to riches story, your unbiased opinion, or your lived experience. Then let it sharpen the edges.
Your input goes in first. AI sharpens it.
Then you edit the soul back in.
That's the process.
I do it with my Claude skill in 20 minutes. Twice a week.
With content that sounds like me.
This is exactly what I teach inside The LinkedIn Leads Engine.
Because your AI should not sound like slop.
But more YOU! ❤️
