1. 5 AI Tools for the Job Market 💼

Did you know that AI can be used for finding jobs?

Yes!

There actually a few types:

  • AI-powered online marketplaces

  • Candidate selection automation

  • Games to match candidates to roles

In this difficult job market with lots of layoffs, I though it’d be appropriate to share some AI tools you can use to find jobs/talent.

I’ve also shared some if you are interested in hiring using these platforms and solutions too.

Here are some that are hand-picked by me: (not sponsored!)

The Radancy Talent Acquisition Cloud is an end-to-end AI-driven platform that helps companies find the right candidates with by optimizing workflow.

Uses AI to automate the search and outreach process, connecting candidates with suitable job opportunities.

AI algorithms match tech candidates with the right roles from global companies

Offers AI for recruiting, automating the screening and shortlisting of candidates.

Uses AI to generate matching scores of candidates with your company.

Also automates the laborious parts of the hiring process, improving efficiency.

You can also check how biased your hiring process is with a tracking dashboard.

2. Meet Tefi, the AI-Powered Guide Dog 🦮

Ever thought how robots and AI will replace humans?

Now dogs aren’t an exception.

Introducing “Tefi”, a smart dog-shaped robot powered by AI to help the disabled.

It was developed by the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC) to act as a guide for persons who are dependent or disabled.

Use cases for “Tefi”:

  • Visually impaired persons

  • Persons with senile dementia

  • Other disabilities which impair navigation

How does “Tefi” work?

"Tefi" that uses Google Maps to get around.

Its eyes are a camera linked to computer vision ML model, which enables it to differentiate between objects and people and to communicate with its user via speech.

Its inbuilt functions are:

  • GPS

  • Telecommunications (calls)

  • Navigation

  • Vision

  • Voice commands

  • Read QR code

Now that’s cool, if you’re doing payment via QR codes.

To summarize, it can determine its location, navigate, communicate, see, and understand - essentially smarter than a guide dog.

Gerardo Portilla, its creator on kickstarter, mentions that it can read and use traffic signs and traffic lights.

Why robot dogs though?

Price difference between a trained guide dog and AI guide dog

Currently, a trained guide dog for a blind person costs > $30,000, making it inaccessible to many.

What about Tefi, our AI Robodog?

It’s only $5-10K! That’s about 3x cheaper.

Many people who are disable also need to apply for aid from an NGO or foundation which build obstacles to obtaining a suitable guide dog.

Not everyone has the privilege of having it.

I would admit that it’s not the cheapest to purchase, but it’s a good start!

3. How to Organize Your Life in 2024 🗓️ 📌

Want to start 2024 afresh?

I figured out how to start organizing your life and get your life together in 2024.

Here’s what I’ve been thinking.

I’ve recently been consuming lots of content by Colby Kultgen over on LinkedIn and his newsletter.

He’s huge on self-development and goals!

He shared this super article by Todoist that I find sooo helpful:

Of course, to save you time and effort of reading it, here’s the rundown:

  1. Develop Habits and Build a Routine: Evaluate your existing habits and routines, replacing unproductive ones with beneficial habits for long-term success.

  2. Plan Ahead: Use tools like task managers and calendars to schedule your activities, including small tasks, to avoid things slipping through the cracks.

  3. Embrace Your Natural Inclinations: Align your habits and routines with your natural preferences and strengths.

  4. Consistency Over Perfection: Focus on consistent progress rather than unrealistic perfection, which often leads to self-sabotage.

  5. Find Balance: Maintain a balance between work, self-care, and leisure to prevent stress and burnout.

  6. Prioritize Appropriately: Learn to say no to non-essential tasks and focus on what truly matters.

  7. Declutter and Simplify: Organize and reduce clutter in your physical, digital, and mental spaces.

  8. Measure Your Progress: Regularly review and adjust your goals and tasks based on progress and changing priorities.

  9. Automate or Outsource: Use technology to automate routine tasks and consider outsourcing tasks where possible.

  10. Experiment: Be open to trying new things and introduce novelty to break free from routines that aren’t working.

Okay, that sounds like a lot.

My recommendation is this: just do one first.

There’s no point trying to overfit habits into you your life, it’s not going to work.

My favorite three points are “Plan Ahead”, “Find Balance” and “Automate or Outsource”.

Living life off a calendar is SO freeing, you don’t have to keep tabs on all things happening in your life.

Have a anniversary to celebrate? Add it to your calendar.

Need to get some laundry done on the weekends? Add it in too!

Need help? Watch this viral YT video from Ali Abdaal on calendar scheduling:

In the past 3 years of building my business, using automation and AI for productivity, I find that striking a balance in life is the MOST important.

You need to balance between spiritual health, mental health, physical health, social health, and identity health.

Automating things are my favorite pastime - I love smart home products, AI, and tech.

They make my lazy life even lazier!

I suggest automating things that are recurring and outsourcing things that drain your energy.

Anyway, wishing you all the best in building a better you in 2024!! (Email me your progress in 2025!)
