Hey {{ck:_first_name|friend}},
Yesterday, my boss’s boss was WOWED by my presentation.
My boss acknowledged my efforts
My boss’s boss asked me more questions at the end
My colleagues applauded at the end (Which they NEVER do)
That was when I realised of… sharing YOUR story.
And let me share how this is relevant to LinkedIn and your business/work.
It was during a regular department meeting.
I smiled at my peers as if I was not nervous.
My sweaty palms said otherwise.
I had a lot to share
Because I had prepared an absolute trojan horse of a presentation.
So I started on my presentation.
I shared how I embarked on a self-initiated digital transformation project in the past year and was ready to “show my work”.
(PS None of my colleagues are here - please allow me to flex!)
The project involved transforming an operational workflow that was outdated, slow, and complex.
I’ll admit - it gave me many sleepless nights…
Some context:
This workflow changed hands every 3 months and was a major hot potato.
No one liked to do it.
But it was my turn to do it.
So I hated it to the point I changed it.
I shared the presentaion in an unconventional way:
I followed the same framework I use for my LinkedIn posts:
A storytelling framework.
Here’s the story arc I used:

Hook (with shocking stats)
Agitate (using humour)
Twist the knife (exaggerate the pain)
Empathised with pain
Shared my personal journey
Shared how I almost overcame it
More problems I faced
Launch! (Climax)
Plans for future development (Resolution)
Ended with a clear ask (A call to action)
This was the first time I tried storytelling in person.
That was when I realised things were changing in 2026.
We humans long to hear STORIES.
Yes, I struggled like everyone else when handed this work portfolio.
Yes, I overcame the problem using automated systems in R, SQL, Excel, Power Query, Office Scripts, Power Automate, and RPA.
And yes, I helped my company save $27k and 2 months of work.
But who would have known that and made an impact on others if I had not shared my work?
And in a story? It made me hit all my goals.
Get my boss in the spotlight? Check
Get opportunities for competitions? Check
Get more budget for systems expansion? Check
Get known for being the systems guy at work? Check
I concluded that what resonates in person will also resonate on socials.
While I’ve always loved refining processes and building automation systems…
I’m learning to share it with others.
In a 9-5, it’s called visibility.
In a business, it’s called trust.
LinkedIn is pretty much the same.
Sales is all built on trust.
Try it out!
Be inspired. Build a system. Tell a story.
PS. What are some systems you create in your companies/businesses? I’d love to know value you bring.
PPS - Do you need my help to create systems in your business and get leads via LinkedIn? Reply with a “system” to this email and I’ll audit your system and we’ll chat more.
