Hey {{ck:_first_name|friend}},

Is this you?

You fire up LinkedIn, all ready to post…
…only to close it 10 minutes later, overwhelmed by what to say

Then this mini-tutorial is for you.

Every week, I hear from solopreneurs who say the same thing:

“I want to post. I just don’t know WHAT to post!”

My beloved, frustrated 9-5 solopreneur reader

I totally get it. I was there too.

Until one day, I decided to do what I do best:

I pulled the data.

I’m a data analyst in my 9–5, so I approached my content strategy like an experiment.

That decision changed everything.
Instead of guessing what to post, I started getting real answers from real people.

Want an answer? JUST ASK!

It’s that simple.

And now I know exactly what my audience wants to hear—because they told me.

So just give me 5 minutes and you will walk away with absolute clarity on what to post next.

I promise.

So set everything aside, and let’s get started.

My 7-Step Method to Know What to Post on LinkedIn

1. Start with 5 honest posts.

Write about things you know deeply—based on your 9–5 or your passion.
Doesn’t matter if it’s perfect.

Just get the first few out.

Think:

  • A process you’ve built

  • A problem you’ve solved

  • A lesson you learned from your 9-5

What were the first few posts I wrote about, you might ask?

I wrote about data analytics.
But soon found myself loving everything about tech, then AI, then AI systems.

Before I knew it, I was helping solopreneurs in a 9-5 job, build their side hustle on autopilot using AI and LinkedIn.

PS - For this specific task, don’t think.
Just DO it first!

2. Check your analytics.

Don’t just look at likes.
Look at impressions, comments, and DMs.

Find the top 1–2 posts that got people to respond.
Now ask: What topic were they really reacting to?

Pay attention and write them down.

That’s your signal.

3. Write your value statement.

If you’ve been just scrolling thru, DO NOT SKIP THIS STEP.

It is absolutely critical you do this.

Once you start seeing a pattern in the content that resonates, you’re ready.

Now go grab a piece of paper and a pen.

“I help [audience] achieve [outcome] using [your method or system].”

This is known as a value statement.

This anchors your brand and makes content easier to plan.
It’s not set in stone. You’ll tweak it as your data evolves.

Example:
“I help busy solopreneurs grow on LinkedIn using AI-powered content systems.”

Here’s mine:
“I help 9–5 solopreneurs use AI to start a LinkedIn side hustle on autopilot.“

You can see my iterative process here:

4. Create a lead magnet.

Now that you’ve tested a few topics, create a simple resource that expands on one.

Use Solopreneur OS and ask the “Lead Magnet Generator” assistant:

“Give me 3 lead magnet ideas based on [insert best-performing topic].”

Pick one. Build it. Keep it short. No need to overthink it.

5. Build a Tally survey to collect audience data.

Use Tally.so to build a 4-question form:

  1. What’s your job or business?

  2. What’s your #1 goal right now?

  3. What’s one thing holding you back?

  4. What do you want to see more from me?

Feel free to use ChatGPT to tweak these questions.

Place them into Tally.

6. Set up your micro-funnel.

This is a similar funnel I use—and it works quietly in the background:

  1. 📄 Lead magnet mockup (Canva)

  2. ✍️ LinkedIn post with “comment ‘blueprint’” CTA

  3. 📋 Tally form → on submit, redirect to the lead magnet hosted in Notion

When someone comments, I DM them the link to the Tally form.
They fill it out. They get the lead magnet.
I get answers.

With about 100+ responses collected, proceed to the next step.

7. Analyze the data inside Solopreneur OS

Once you’ve collected at least 20 responses, upload them into Solopreneur OS and ask:

“Based on these survey responses, what are the top pain points my audience is facing? Suggest 5 content ideas that directly address those pains.”

Now you’ve got your next post batch—based on real signal, not guesses.

Repeat the process as often as you want.

How did I do it?
I tested different formats: screenshots, mockups, videos.

1 same lead magnet, 4 different results.

1 same lead magnet, 4 different formats, 4 different results

Just pick the winning format and experiment until you reach the version with the highest impressions.

Test your content often!

A few parameters to test:

  • Post format

  • Hook

  • Content

  • Image

  • CTA

And that’s it.

That’s how you know what to post - you literally ask people the question!

Have any questions about this system?

Just hit reply—I’d love to hear what you’re stuck on or thinking through!

See you next week,
Justin “data-driven” Chia
